Many of you seem to have misunderstood my position on gay marriage.
I support it. As I’ve said before on this blog, it has little effect on me. I very nearly opposed it to make a point shortly after Proposition 8 was passed, but was fortunately not overcome by my emotions of the time.
But I have assumed the responsibility, as the resident conservative, of expressing commonly held conservative beliefs. I wish to do this without resorting to fallacy or childish name-calling. I have posted two articles not authored by me on this blog in opposition to gay marriage. I did not link the first to its credit because the original source had been deleted, but I assumed that the difference in tone and syntax would make it blatantly obvious to anyone who’s read any of this blog before that I did not author it. This was apparently an inappropriate assumption to make. I’ll be sure to think less of you collectively from now on. I was laboring under the delusion that more condescension was the last thing this blog needed, but hey, even I’m wrong every once in a while.
